Pre-K Counts Program

The Knoch School District is excited to announce a partnership with Lifesteps, Inc. to provide a Pre-K Counts classroom at Knoch Primary School.
Here is a video highlighting our program.

What is Pre-K Counts?

Pre-K Counts is a FREE preschool for qualifying children 3 and 4 years of age. Pre-K Counts is a high-quality early learning program for children and families who may have challenges due to income, language, and cultural or special needs. The classroom will be run by Lifesteps, Inc. faculty at our Primary building. This partnership has been made possible by a grant from the state.

PA Pre-K Counts is designed for children who are eligible using the following criteria:

  • are between ages 3 and younger than the entry age for kindergarten;
  • live in a family earning up to 300% of the poverty such as a family of four earning $71,550; and
  • may also have language (English is not your first language), a disability or developmental delay, or other issues that make them at risk for failing in school.
