KHS Students Assist Agency on Aging

Senior Alicyn Rhodes and Junior Lindsay Mack visited the Winfield Fire Hall today to meet with senior citizens as part of their 2024 Extreme Leadership project. Run through the MUI IV in Grove City and national nonprofit Multiplying Good, Extreme Leadership offers students in Butler, Mercer, and Lawrence Counties an opportunity to develop leadership skills through networking and collaborating with peers from surrounding districts and then developing service projects in order to make positive changes in their schools and communities. In partnership with the Butler County Agency on Aging, Lindsay and Ali, along with other Knoch National Honor Society members, will be holding a “Teens Teach Tech” day in May. Ali and Lindsay’s teams will help local seniors with questions about their phones, laptops, Kindles, etc. Following this, the teens and seniors will play a few intense rounds of BINGO while getting to know one another. The Extreme Leaders plan to expand this project next year, with several more tech days as well as other social events.

If you know a senior who may be interested in some technology help, they must register in advance with the Butler County Agency on Aging.

Event Details: Thursday, May 16th at Winfield Fire Hall @ 10 a.m.
